Renita D. Alexander is a servant leader, certified professional coach, entrepreneur, and author who has spent a lifetime aiding aspiring, ambitious leaders to maximize their potential.

Alexander started her leadership journey in Florence, AL. As the oldest of W.L. and Fannie Smith’s five children and the oldest grandchild on both sides of the family, she was often “voluntold” to lead her siblings and cousins and learned early that responsibility with no authority required other skills.

She refined her skills in leadership roles at various levels as an Air Force officer, mentoring thousands and earning individual and unit awards to include “Best in Air Force” recognition despite a tough transition for her outsourced unit.

Alexander played a very direct leadership development role as an instructor at Officer Training School, teaching the fundamentals of leadership and Air Force culture to hundreds of officer candidates and as a deputy commander at Basic Military Training where she helped mold, mentor and motivate thousands of enlisted trainees.

A sought-after speaker, Alexander shared her message of service with communities in states where she has been stationed as well as in Japan, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

Since retiring as a Colonel, Alexander has continued her legacy of leadership with the founding of her company, Leadership Unlocked. Her book, "Just Breathe: Leading Myself One Breath at a Time," is an acclaimed biographical guide written to help leaders unlock their true potential using anecdotes and tips from her own personal and professional experiences

Alexander earned her undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Alabama, and Master’s degrees in Public Administration from Webster University and Strategic Studies from the Army War College.

Alexander travels frequently with her daughter, Renise Alexander, a Delta Airlines flight attendant. She believes being who you are called to be is the journey of a lifetime.
